Nursery and 39 Week Update

So for those of you who don't know, I have been on maternity leave for two weeks now. I've been using my time to get last minute details done and things organized. It's weird not working, and weird not interacting with my coworkers everyday. Soon, I'll have Alexis to share my days with, although I have no idea when she is coming. I have erratic contractions, nothing painful enough or structured enough to be labor. I'm still not in a rush to get her out. I love being pregnant. She moves so much and does the funniest things, as you can see in the video below. However, I am eager to meet her and just plain curious as to when I will do so. I had guessed that Sept. 25th would be the day, but clearly I am wrong. My doctor recently informed us that he will be out of town 9/30-10/4. I am hoping I don't have her those days. Oct. 5th would be fine with me. I have another doctors appt. on Tuesday.
The nursery is done! We changed the original design, because the blue nursery items from Target didn't match the walls like we hoped. However, I love the butterfly theme and the blue walls together. Everything is washed and ready for Alexis. I love coming into the nursery. It relaxes me and makes me happy. It's absolutely adorable. Here are some pictures, but I am not a good photographer and I don't think they do the room justice. I also want to thank everyone for all of Alexis's gifts. I am amazed by the talent of those who made homemade gifts, from frames to blankets to homemade bibs and burp cloths (thanks Jen!). I look forward to using everything, homemade or store bought, when she comes. Thanks again everyone, her nursery would not be the same without your gifts. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

New Floor and Door

It's been awhile since I have blogged. A lot of you have been asking about Daniel's progress with the flooring. He's been done with the floor for awhile. I am very proud of him and love the new floor. I don't miss the ugly tile at all!!! Here's some pictures of the entire process. Thanks to Steve Wells and a couple other friends, we got the tile out one weekend and the new floor and door in another weekend. Thank you to everyone who helped!!!

Work Shower & 36 week update

On Thursday, Sept. 3rd, my coworkers threw me a baby shower potluck. It was a great time at work and I really appreciated the generosity of my coworkers. Everyone brought delicious food and the kitchen was decorated so well! My cake was the best cake I have ever had in my life. A coworker's aunt made it. It was white cake with bananas in the middle, which doesn't sound like it would be the best cake, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOO yummy. Also on that day, Alexis turned 36 weeks. She can be born any day now that she is full-term. We aren't expecting her for at least a couple more weeks, but trying to get everything ready in case of a surprise delivery date. I also want people to start guessing her birthday and birthweight. I will post everyone's guesses on my blog and we'll see who is the closest. Please email me with your guess or post a comment. Enjoy the pictures!

*The Party Organizers- thanks ladies!*
*Cutting the yummy cake!*
*More gifts for Alexis*
*My silly coworkers*
*My belly-36 weeks...this picture shocked me! I didn't think I was this big! I certainly don't feel this big*
