So for those of you who don't know, I have been on maternity leave for two weeks now. I've been using my time to get last minute details done and things organized. It's weird not working, and weird not interacting with my coworkers everyday. Soon, I'll have Alexis to share my days with, although I have no idea when she is coming. I have erratic contractions, nothing painful enough or structured enough to be labor. I'm still not in a rush to get her out. I love being pregnant. She moves so much and does the funniest things, as you can see in the video below. However, I am eager to meet her and just plain curious as to when I will do so. I had guessed that Sept. 25th would be the day, but clearly I am wrong. My doctor recently informed us that he will be out of town 9/30-10/4. I am hoping I don't have her those days. Oct. 5th would be fine with me. I have another doctors appt. on Tuesday.
The nursery is done! We changed the original design, because the blue nursery items from Target didn't match the walls like we hoped. However, I love the butterfly theme and the blue walls together. Everything is washed and ready for Alexis. I love coming into the nursery. It relaxes me and makes me happy. It's absolutely adorable. Here are some pictures, but I am not a good photographer and I don't think they do the room justice. I also want to thank everyone for all of Alexis's gifts. I am amazed by the talent of those who made homemade gifts, from frames to blankets to homemade bibs and burp cloths (thanks Jen!). I look forward to using everything, homemade or store bought, when she comes. Thanks again everyone, her nursery would not be the same without your gifts. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
